About Creative Bits Software--
Occasionally,
I write programs for IBM PCs and compatibles. I was the first
programmer to figure out how to translate Macintosh Type-1 Postscript
typefaces to IBM (Type-1 Tools ), and wrote the first available
editor for the Creative Labs WaveBlaster (WaveBlaster Tamer).
You can find some of my shareware on this site.
All of the programs below are for IBM-PC
compatibles unless otherwise noted.
- E-mu Proteus 2000 ZR Module .INS file--This
instrument file adds the four banks of patches offered in the "Sounds
of the ZR" module to Cakewalk. Download E-mu Proteus 2000 ZR Module .INS.
- Yamaha FS1R .INS file for Cakwalk and FS1R multi-timbre
tutorial--This instrument file system for Cakewalk
allows you easily to use both Performances and the over 1,500 Parts available
in the FS1R in your sequences. A short tutorial is enclosed to help you understand
what the abysmal Yamaha FS1R manual is trying to tell you about multi-timbral
sequencing, and shows you how to program your FS1R to use both Performances
and Parts within a single sequence. NEW! Version 1.2 now contains Cakewalk
.WRK and .MID files to demo FS1R's multi-timbral mode in your sequencer. Download
Yamaha FS1R .INS.
- Type-1 Tools 2.0!--Once only
available commercially, Type-1 Tools is now a shareware product. Type-1 Tools
was the first-available-anywhere program designed to convert Macintosh Type-1
PostScript Typefaces to the IBM platform. It also--downloads fonts one-at-a-time
or in batches, prints ASCII files on PostScript printers, sends PostScript
.PS files to the printer, and helps you control your PostScript printer. Many
uses. Fully functional. DOS based. Download Type-1 Tools.
- WaveBlaster Tamer 1.5--The first and still the best editor for the Creative Labs WaveBlaster.
This editor does two major things: It (1) lets you create custom sounds on
your WaveBlaster and (2) fits into any batch file (such as AUTOEXEC.BAT) to
upload your sounds or set any other parameters. You'll have complete hands-on
and hands-off control of your WaveBlaster. DOS based. Download a working model
of WaveBlaster
Tamer 1.5!
- JoinKRZ-- If you are a Kurzweil
K2000 owner, you might like this little utility. It combines multiple-floppy
KRZ files into a large single KRZ file. Freeware. DOS based. Download JoinKRZ.
- Kurz Kruzer 1.2 (DOS)-- A Kurzweil K2000 utility. It lets you enter object names from
your IBM-PC keyboard. Very handy. Freeware. Download Kruzer
(DOS).
- Kurz Kruzer 1.5 (Windows)-- A Kurzweil K2000 utility. It lets you enter object names from
your IBM-PC keyboard. Very handy. This runs under Windows and requires that
you have VBRUN300.DLL. If you don't have it, click here
to download it. Kurz Kruzer is Freeware. Download Kruzer
(Windows).
